Things are never quite what they seem. At least, that's the way is around the Verthandic Rangers.
When VR leader Katze Brenner gets kidnapped back to her homeland of Marraketh - a homeland she didn't even know existed - it's up to the rest of the Rangers to ride to the rescue. And, while they're at it, liberate an entire country from the evils of the Hellwyrm.
Just another day's work for the Rangers.
This is the first offical adventure of the Verthandic Rangers. The story began way the hell back in 1997, when a group of Rangers did a little impromptu IRC role-playing. From this minor beginning came The Marraketh Connection, developed more or less as a short "premiere" story for VRDET and its cast of characters.
Of course, the first rule of Jihad story telling is that there's no such
thing as a short story.
By the posting of the final segment in late 1999, Marraketh has spiraled
into almost 100 seperate sections, thousands of words, and plenty of angst
for the editing team. Finally, though, the tale has been told, and the story
is done. We at the Jihad Archives hope you enjoy this first (but hopefully
not last) story of the Verthandic Rangers.
