On his uncovered forearm was what appeared to be a large watch, but instead displayed a small picture, in greens, blues, and reds. Apparently an infrared image of the scene before them. Dead center, amidst soft blues of foliage, was a large indescernible red blotch. He pointed ahead, and Aris nodded. The woodsman drew the Gloc .45 from it's holster and trained it on the general direction of the blotch. He circled around, keeping the weapon targeted on the same area. He kept circling, very slowly, away from the hut. Aris and Selvane now had a crossfire. Aris drew her sword, and silently swore not to doubt Selvane's instinct again. The cold steel felt soothing in her hands, and the sword seemed to hum with a life of it's own. It's blade glistened in the faint moonlight. Her eyes trained on the foliage, and she crouched down behind a stump. Standard flush and kill tactic she knew, but all the same it was nerve wracking. Aris drew a deep breath to steady herself, and glanced at Selvane's position. His gun was drawn, and his left arm was outstretched in front of him as he glanced between the screen and the dark forest before him. Selvane glanced back over at Aris, about 10 meters away now. She nodded that she was ready. He took a last look at the screen, and steadied his right hand with his left. The Gloc cracked dryly three times into the dark, shattering the serenity of the woods. And then it came. A dark form burst forth from the foliage, all arms and legs. It's blazing speed cut down the distance between it and Selvane in less then a second. Selvane saw nothing but movement, yet still ducked and flung himself away from his position, toward Aris. He hit the ground and rolled up, traing his weapon on where he used to be. The entity crashed to the ground where Selvane used to be. The two Rangers could see now that it was a bi-pedal humanoid with huge shoulders, and long muscled arms that hung down in front of his slouched body like an orangutang's. The hunched form began to turn, but before it could, Aris was there. While Selvane rolled, Aris was in the air, sword pointed down. Within a moment, it was buried deep in the enemies back. The beast let out a strange cry and slumped to the ground, the blade sticking out, and Aris astride it. Selvane stood, and moved over next to Aris, both were breathing heavily, and sweating just a bit. He looked down at the beast at let loose two rounds into what he assumed was it's skull. He holstered the weapon then nodded at Aris. "That was good fight you had," he said. He cracked a slight smile. Aris smiled back and removed the sword from it's back, wiping the blood on it's own clothes, and then sheathing the blade. The being that was in front of them was dressed in loose fitting brown clothing. There was no apparent hair on the green skin. The skin itself was bumpy and dry. It's brow sloped down, and formed a lip over the eyes. In it's hands was what appeared to be a spiked club. The thing was perhpas 7 feet tall, and heavily muscled. Aris turned the thing over, and felt it's chest. She reached around the neck, and Selvane heard a slight *click*. Aris smiled, and drew up an amulet on a necklace. It was golden with azure shaded markings. "This is why I couldn't feel him with my magic. It's a ward against others seeing you magicly." Selvane looked slightly puzzled, and then nodded. "It's best we sleep while we can. I will bury the body," Aris nodded, yawned, and headed back into the hut.
