The Jihad is a Community!?

Of course it is. Read katsters excellent paper on community and why the Jihad is one. You won't be sorry.

So what exactly does our little community have to offer? Why not pull up a chair and see for yourself?

With the downfall of Usenet, the Jihad found itself without a main forum for discussion. Enter CGIab4d, a web based message board, partially open to the public, on a single server, with none of the access problems so painfully obvious on Usenet. No more fear of rmgroup's every month, no more spam, no more trolls. Just a nice, private and quiet corner on the web to discuss all things Jihad. CGIab4d is the creation of CyberPyro, a.k.a. DeadLock the Feral, now mostly retired from things Jihadii. You can read the FAQ here. While you're at it, you might as well read the Acceptable Use Policy. Once you've done this, we invite you to use our guest account by going here and logging in with the user name "guest" and the password "guest/CGIab4d". If you like what you see, why not apply for an account of your own?

Once the center of Jihad activity, it's now mostly a hotbed of trolling activity and spam. Still, a few brave Jihadii linger on and whether we admit it or not, most of us still cruise by the old haunt with hopes of a propegation miracle or maybe on the off chance that we might see an old familiar face. If your ISP doesn't carry the Jihads main newsgroup alt.barney.dinosaur.die.die.die, you can try one of the free places such as http://www.deja.com. Be forewarned, these places are full of advertising, lack proper threading and some don't hold articles for more than a few hours at a time. Consult your web browser documentation for instructions on newsgroup use.

Yes, love it or dispise it, the Jihad is on IRC. Point your client towards #tjab on irc.sandwich.net port 6667. (It was originally on Undernet, but when it got to the point you couldn't even connect to it due to script kiddie DDoS, well...)

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. Take a peek at this IRC FAQ and then download yourself a client. Links below.

Using a Unix, Linux or Other machine? We shouldn't have to tell you to go to irc.themes.org or freshmeat.net.
